2. What information we collect
When you use our enquiry form, we collect:
- your name
- your phone number and/or email address
- the service you are interested in and, if you choose to tell us, your property type
- anything you write in your message
- your agreement to be contacted about your enquiry, and the date and time you sent it
If you phone or email us directly, we receive the information you choose to share, such as your number, email address and the content of your message.
Please don’t send alarm codes, passwords, door-entry codes or details of weak points in your security through the form or by email.
3. Why we use your information
We use your information only to respond to your enquiry, discuss your requirements and, if you go ahead, arrange and carry out the work. Our lawful basis is your request for us to contact you about your enquiry, and the steps needed before entering into a contract with you.
We do not use enquiry details for marketing, and we do not sell your information.
To protect the form from spam, we briefly record a scrambled (one-way hashed) version of your IP address along with the time of submission. This cannot be used to identify you and is deleted automatically after 24 hours.
4. How we store and protect your information
Enquiries sent through the form are delivered to our business email inbox. The website itself does not keep a database of enquiries. We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections to this website and secure email accounts.
5. Who we share your information with
We do not share your information with anyone except the service providers we need to run the website and our email, who handle it on our behalf:
- our website hosting provider, Fasthosts Internet Ltd, which hosts this website and processes form submissions
- our email provider, Google (Gmail), which hosts our business inbox
Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, they use legal safeguards approved under UK data-protection law. We may also share information if the law requires it.
6. How long we keep your information
We keep enquiry emails for up to 12 months after our last contact with you, unless you become a customer. If you do, we keep the records needed for the work we carry out, invoicing and any servicing, and for as long as the law requires for business and tax records.
7. Cookies and analytics
This website uses a single essential cookie to keep the enquiry form secure while you fill it in. It is deleted when you close your browser. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
8. Links to other websites
This website links to our Google Business Profile, our Facebook and Instagram pages, Google Maps and other websites. We are not responsible for how those websites handle your information, so please read their privacy policies. Facebook and Instagram are operated by Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd; Google Maps by Google LLC.
9. Your rights
Under UK data-protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- ask us to delete your information
- ask us to restrict or object to how we use your information
- withdraw your agreement to be contacted at any time
To make a request, contact us using the details in section 1. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint (opens in a new tab) or by calling 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last changed.
